Standard Construction Technology
Teleperm XS systems are typically installed in control cabinets of type SC 9422 (2200 x 900 x 400 mm depth), protection class IP30.
The cabinet is equipped with cable strain reliefs and shield bars.
The cabinet is designed for seismic loads.
Cable entry and power supply are generally from below.
Module racks are mounted in the central area of the standard cabinet.
On the left and right are spaces for installing cabinet connection elements and transceivers.
Terminal blocks are used to connect peripheral cables.
Other connection technologies, such as Maxi-Termi-Point, are also possible.
Field cables must be shielded with twisted pairs.
Bus systems within a cabinet use conventional cables, whereas connections outside the cabinet are made via fiber optic cables.
Teleperm XS is suitable for systems with distributed earthing as well as for systems with central earthing (ZEP).

Module Racks
Depending on requirements, various configurations of module racks are used.
In the standard version, the module rack features a continuous backplane bus and provides 21 slots.
If a large number of signals need to be processed, expansion module racks can be connected.

Variants supported include:
- Split module racks with two smaller, independent CPUs (each with 10 slots, own fan, and own power supply)
- Mixed configurations, such as a compact unit comprising a CPU with its associated signal conditioning modules
