CORMAK HBS320

CORMAK HBS320 for double-sided mitre cutting in the range from -45° to +60°. The construction of the machine is based on solutions and designs developed by Polish engineers. Its precision and accuracy make it one of the leading band saws, offering cutting capacity up to 320 mm in width. The main advantage of this machine is its latest-generation hydraulic cylinder. The HBS320 features a reinforced vise base and a vise with quick-clamping functionality.

Machine Features

The CORMAK HBS320 metal band saw enables cutting at any angle from -45° to +60°. The workpiece can be fed manually or by any compatible feeding device. The cutting feed is gravity-based, relying on the controlled flow of oil in the hydraulic cylinder. The operator starts the machine by pressing the start button and sets the cutting speed. After completion of the cycle, the machine automatically stops, and the operator raises the saw arm to the starting position.

The saw arm is constructed from a very robust, solid grey cast iron casting. In combination with a 27 mm wide blade, it is fully suitable for mass production cutting of structural, stainless, and tool steel. The adjustable base houses the vise, which is equipped with a quick clamping mechanism. Blade guides feature a system of ball bearings and carbide inserts for superior cutting accuracy and straightness. This significantly improves blade guidance, lifespan, precision, and cut quality. Carbide guides also minimize machine and blade wear.

The base frame is a rigid welded body made of steel plates, housing a separate coolant tank with an electric pump. The top part of the base is shaped as a pan for coolant drainage and chip collection during cutting operations. The cast iron working table, with bi-directional swivel arm and control panel, is fixed to the base.

Feed rate is controlled directly from the machine’s control panel. Two cutting speeds are selectable: 44 and 88 m/min. Once the saw arm reaches the lowest position and the cut is complete, the drive motor automatically switches off. Operator safety is ensured by blade covers and micro-switches, which interrupt engine operation after the cutting cycle ends or if any cover is opened. Additional protection automatically switches off the saw if the blade breaks.
