On the left and right inside the housing there is a counterweight, which is connected to the window frame via a wire rope running over a pulley. This allows the window to be opened with minimal effort and to remain at any desired height.

Both plates, together with the thermal insulation panels, the heating plates, and the actual ram/table, have been precision-ground flat. On the left and right, there are polished, chrome-plated guide columns on which the ram is held parallel by 250 mm high bronze bushings.

Electronic door monitoring
The vertical door is monitored by the safety control system. The locking mechanism only allows ram movement when the door is closed.
Furthermore, the locking mechanism prevents opening the door if the heating plates are warmer than 50 degrees Celsius. However, this function can be deliberately overridden by the operator. For this, the operator must press and hold a switch for 10 seconds, which is clearly labeled with the sign: "Door release – risk of burns!"
