Description:

The machine concept is exceptionally straightforward. The workpiece is placed into the machine. A quick-adjustable stop with pneumatic locking centers the workpiece. Once a foot switch is actuated, the workpiece is pneumatically clamped and automatically fed to the drilling unit (30 m/min).

The vertical spindles drill from below, ensuring that chips do not remain on the workpiece, as is often the case with machining centers. The horizontal spindles process both sides of the workpiece.

The workpiece length is unlimited, as the workpiece is moved to the drilling unit (X-axis). The drilling spindles are freely programmable, either individually or as a block, and move along the Y-axis. Drilling depth and horizontal drilling spindles are controlled by the Z-axis.

After all drilling operations are completed, the workpiece is conveyed back to the infeed side or, optionally, to the outfeed side.

Unlike conventional machining centers where the workpiece is held in place by vacuum and the vacuum clamps must be set to the size of the workpiece, this set-up process is entirely eliminated with the 3-axis CNC point-to-point drilling machine.
