The INDEX ABC is a compact turning machine for short-turned parts from bar stock.

It is built in a slant-bed design with two independent turrets.

The upper turret is primarily intended for internal machining and operations on the parting side, while the lower turret takes care of external machining.

The turret arrangement enables collision-free operation and simple programming with high tool availability.

The large clearance in the working area ensures optimal chip flow.

Work area – consists of two turrets:

"Turret 1"
- Disc turret with 7 radially arranged toolholders Ø 25 mm DIN 69880 and one mounting for the reinforced synchronous spindle at turret station 8. With a compensating holder, tools with 1" mounts can also be used. The turret head is prepared for the V-rail system.

- Synchronous spindle for rear-side machining, allows simultaneous parallel machining with the main spindle. Collet chuck Ø42 or 3-jaw gripper chuck for internal and external clamping. Jaw stroke 0.6 mm. Clamping diameter (external) 75 mm.

- Back boring unit: starting from the center of the working spindle, 3 stationary back boring tools are arranged clockwise. These are located on the circle of the synchronous spindle. Rear-side machining is performed simultaneously with main spindle machining. Additionally, two more tools can be mounted and equipped with a tool drive.

"Turret 2"
- Turret with 6 symmetrical dovetail holders, each station featuring 2 bores for cylindrical shank tools.

The following tool systems can be used:
- Fixed tools, adjustable in Z direction
- Driven tools with Ø25 mm cylindrical shank (can be fitted in two positions per station)

- Including bar loader LM 3200 -
+ Various accessories (assorted Ø guide split shells/tool holders)
