The NC joining modules NCFH type 2151B... consist of a robust housing, integrating a linear position sensor (absolute encoder) and a piezoelectric compression/tension force sensor. Compression or tension forces applied to the sensor generate a proportional electric charge within the piezoelectric measuring element, which is converted by the integrated charge amplifier into an analog voltage signal.

The drive motor is an electronically commutated AC servo hollow-shaft motor, controlled via a servo amplifier. Constant speed—i.e., constant traversing velocity—is ensured. Standard features such as press-force to stop, press to position, force-controlled joining, and movement to intermediate positions are supported.
