This machine is designed for shaping and cutting spur and helical gears using the hobbing process. With a special attachment, gearings can also be produced using the single indexing method.

Normally, cutting wheels with approx. 4" = 100 mm pitch circle diameter are used. Since the machine operates using the hobbing method, all numbers of teeth within a specific module can be cut using just one cutting wheel.
