4.14.1 Basic Structure

The system is constructed as a closed aluminum profile frame and is designed to be very compact. The control cabinets are integrated in the lower part of the frame. The main valve manifold is located behind a service door below the control panel.

The system comprises four workpiece stops. Operation is performed via a touchscreen. The control panel is mounted on the right side of the frame. A Bluhm Weber labeling system is used in the station; the documentation provided by Bluhm applies accordingly.

4.14.2 Functional Sequence

- The incoming workpiece carriers with IO modules are stopped, lifted (positioned), and contacted in substations 10.1 and 10.2.
- In substation 10.3, the IO modules are automatically labeled. The generation and content of the labels is automated, as is their application to the devices.
- After labeling, the module is finalized in station 10.4. For this, it is stopped, lifted, and contacted. Following finalization, the workpiece carrier is automatically ejected from the station.

Motor-driven large roll unwinder:
Label rolls with up to 430 mm roll diameter and 900 meters of label material ensure long, uninterrupted production times. Tandem operation guarantees continuous production.

Tamp applicator:
The rapidly exchangeable tamp applicators allow processing of label sizes from small type plates up to A5-sized EAN128 shipping labels. The Quick-Change option enables format changes within seconds.
