5-axis CNC machining center for processing wood, plastic, and aluminum.
Machine in gantry design, with rack-and-pinion drive.
The machine was most recently used in wooden staircase construction.

Milling unit:
- 1 universal unit for 5-axis milling with 50° inclined head, power max. 12.5 kW, infinitely variable speed up to 17,000 rpm, milling spindle water-cooled.
- 1 NC height-adjustable chip extraction system with lamellar curtain.

Tool magazine:
- Tool interface ISO 40 for automatic tool change system.
- 2 chain tool magazines with 32 positions each for tools up to D = 90 mm, sorted storage up to max. 160 mm (three positions required for this).

Machine table:
- 10 support tubes on linear guides with pneumatic release device for fast positioning.
- 2 control circuits for stops “raise / lower”
- 2 control circuits for pneumatics “clamping / releasing”
- 2 vacuum control circuits with push-button for clamping and automatic reset via CNC programming.
- 2 stage separation devices, stroke approx. 320 mm.
- Various clamping devices for posts and winders.
- 1 chip conveyor integrated into the base frame for removal of chips and small waste up to max. approx. 100 x 100 x 100 mm.

Vacuum supply:
- 1 vacuum pump, including tank with 250-liter capacity for fast vacuum build-up.
- approx. 20 vacuum supports with various suction pads.
- 4 stops for raising/lowering to position workpieces.

Miscellaneous:
- Automatic central lubrication.
- Control cabinet with air conditioning unit.
- Projection laser

Occupational safety:
- Traveling safety cabin with safety bumpers.

Overhaul / Repairs in 2018 / 2019:
- Retrofit of rotary and swivel axes to new generation of digital drives.
- New energy chains for Y / X / Z axes.
- Complete rewiring, all power and measuring system cables replaced.
- All guide carriages replaced.
- Z-axis ball screw and guide rails replaced.
Hedevmpx Ropfx Agtofb
- X-axis guide rail replaced.
- Control retrofit to BWO Vektor 921, with V-CNC card, 256 MB NC memory.
- New vacuum valves and hoses.
- 2 x tool magazines + tool grippers overhauled.
- Swiveling extraction system overhauled.

Software:
- It is possible to transfer a current version of the Compass stair design software. Compass is the leading provider for the planning and production of wooden staircases.
