The patented VFGF technology (Variable Fused Granulate Fabrication) is an advancement of pellet 3D printing featuring a variable nozzle opening. It prints with high resolution only where necessary, such as on visible surfaces, and efficiently fills internal areas with thicker layers. VFGF thus combines the benefits of FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) for fine details and complex geometries with the advantages of granulate printing (high deposition rates, material variety, and reduced costs). Intelligent algorithms ensure the correct amount of material at the right place at all times, even for complex shapes with overhangs or support structures.

Areas of application:
Suitable for prototypes, single parts, small series, and also for larger quantities. By melting the granulate in a specially developed screw extruder, high throughput can be achieved, significantly reducing printing times. Typical industries include aerospace, mechanical engineering, and the automotive sector.

Advantages:
It enables the production of components with unrestricted geometric complexity and excellent surface quality. The process achieves shortened print times and significantly lower material costs compared to filament-based 3D printing. This opens up the possibility of economically implementing large-format 3D printing in manufacturing for the first time.
