Transport systems can be designed to move on the floor or be suspended from rails, depending on customer requirements.
- For user-friendly solutions in manual installations, we recommend overhead cross transfers (cross conveyors).
- In automated systems, chain conveyors are most commonly used; they offer continuous operation, making them an excellent solution for companies focused on process quality and repeatability.
- For companies producing different items simultaneously and, for example, operating several booths with various colors, flexible solutions employing non-powered conveyors are implemented. This is the most costly solution.
All installations are custom-built to client specifications. Continuous conveyor systems for overhead chains are designed and manufactured to order.
In this system, it is also possible to produce ground conveyor systems for positioning items such as flowerpots or rims (see photo). ROMER also manufactures overhead conveyor systems.
Cross beams (cross transfers) are designed and manufactured to meet the specific requirements of individual installations.
Use of Photoelectric Sensors
The use of a photoelectric sensor in the component area allows for length measurement and, consequently, enables automatic activation of the guns when a part enters their range, and immediate deactivation once coating is completed. The photo sensor is standard equipment. Identification of parts can also be performed using special markings.
Above the carrier loop, there are plates with identification holes.
Based on this, the PLC controller, together with the photo sensor, recognizes the coated part and switches the guns on and off at the correct times—thereby saving energy and powder paint. Vertical shape identification.
By using light curtains with horizontal detectors, the PLC controller can analyze the vertical shape of components.
The PLC control counts the period in which the part should appear in the gun area—which makes it possible to selectively switch the guns on and off. With light barriers using multiple sensors horizontally and vertically, this solution allows precise measurement of workpiece dimensions, thus enabling the control of manipulators as well.
