The BioWelder operates using a thermal welding cycle that does not require laminar flow. During this welding process, the blade remains sterile and free from endotoxins throughout the entire procedure.

The inserted tubes are cut with a blade and then fused together inside the unit. The cycle is fully automated and only allows access once the process has been completed.

Various programmable holders enable the welding of thermoplastic tubing of the same type (e.g. C-Flex, Sanipure, Pharmed) with outer diameters ranging from 6.4 mm (1/4") to 19.0 mm (3/4").
