Machine Purpose

The SKINETTA series of tight banding machines are designed to tightly wrap individual products or multiple items with polyethylene film. Unlike shrink-wrap machines, the wrapping film is pulled tight around the package before sealing. This tensioning is the main advantage of the process, resulting in up to 20% less film consumption.

A particular benefit of the patented SKINETTA tensioning system is its infinitely variable, precise adjustability.

The sealing (welding) of the film is performed in a minimal space, producing a clean seal with very small overlaps. By using an additional SKINETTAther or SKINETTAshrink heat tunnel and sufficiently wide film, the excess film protruding from the package can be shrunk to the sides. This further stabilizes the bundle and prevents individual products from slipping out of well-grouped packages. Full closure of the bundle by top sealing, end sealing, and side folding is possible with corresponding additional devices.

The SKINETTA tight banding machine range includes six basic models for processing film widths of 25 mm up to 200, 290, 440, 590, 790, and 1250 mm. For increased output, in addition to the single-lane version, two- to four-lane systems are available. In the SK series (semi-automatic), items are grouped by an operator on the machine table. The film insertion and subsequent tight banding process are triggered either by a foot switch or a two-hand control. Later full automation is possible (except for type SK 200). In the ASK series (fully automatic), the items are fully automatically fed, grouped, and banded by appropriate add-on units. A modular system of feeding, grouping, forming, and special units—based on more than 20 years of experience—allows adaptation to a wide range of customer requirements using proven standard components.
