The machine was designed and built to perform the following operations automatically:
- Automatic loading/unloading of parts from/to the tool carrier line with a pick & place unit between the shaft ends.
- Turning of ring seat + surfacing of commutator + turning of commutator.
- Ring assembly - commutator side
- Ring assembly - drive gear side

The machine has multiple production programs for manufacturing different parts. Each program corresponds precisely to a specific shaft type.
