The Filtration System

The mobile filtration unit type Cartmaster IFA is particularly suited for welding operations involving unalloyed and alloyed steels, galvanized materials, and aluminum with heavy smoke generation, thanks to its automatic cleaning function. It complies with the safety requirements for devices in weld fume class "W3" (high-alloy steels with alloy constituents >30% nickle-base alloy). When used as intended, the unit can be operated in recirculation mode, as the prerequisites for exemptions according to TRGS 560 are met. The specially developed, contamination-dependent cleaning system ensures effective regeneration of the filter cartridge, thereby maintaining optimal extraction performance throughout operation. The cleaned particles are collected in a dust tray, from which they can subsequently be disposed of. The high-performance scroll fan ensures a strong airflow, even when the filter cartridges are saturated.

Filter Media

A deflector plate serves as a pre-separator for coarse particles. The downstream filter cartridge (dust class M, separation efficiency > 99%) filters out even the finest fumes and dust particles. The cartridge is coated at the factory, which increases its service life.

The Extraction Arm

The extraction arm is easily positioned due to its three internally-mounted, spring-supported joints, and remains freely suspended in the set position. A throttle valve integrated into the hood allows manual adjustment of the air flow rate.
