The Filter Unit

The mobile filter unit, model StrongMaster IFA, is particularly suitable for welding operations with unalloyed and alloyed steel, galvanized materials, and aluminum in applications with high fume generation. It meets the safety requirements for appliances in welding fume class “W3” (high-alloyed steels with alloy contents >30% nickel-base alloys). When used according to regulations, the unit can be used for recirculating air operation, since the prerequisites for exceptions according to TRGS 560 are fulfilled. The filter is cleaned from the clean air side via a maintenance door using a compressed air gun. The removed particles fall into a dust collection drawer from which they can be easily disposed of. The highly efficient screw fan ensures a high airflow rate even with saturated filter cartridges.

The Filter Media

A deflection plate serves as a pre-separator for coarse particles. The downstream filter cartridge (dust class M, separation efficiency >99%) filters the finest fumes and dust particles. The cartridge is factory coated to extend its service life.

The Extraction Arm

The extraction arm can be easily positioned thanks to three internally mounted and spring-assisted joints and remains self-supporting in the chosen position. A throttle valve integrated in the extraction hood allows for adjustment of the airflow volume.
