The digitalized scanning electron microscope DSM 962 is a unit equipped with an integrated 4 MB image memory, a 40 MB internal hard drive for image storage, as well as drives for external storage of data and images.
This enables quick and easy acquisition of insights into the composition and morphology of specimen surfaces down to the sub-micrometer range. With a magnification range from 5x to 300,000x, both macrostructure and microstructure investigations are possible.
The range of applications can be significantly extended through special add-ons, allowing, for example, analytical examinations of micro-areas on the surface.
Operation of the device can be performed via conventional switches, as well as by keyboard or mouse (optional accessory). Electron optics and vacuum controls are operated conventionally. Image memory functions are controlled via keyboard or mouse (optional accessory). Centrally positioned on the control panel is a separate info screen for displaying menus.
This operating manual is intended to serve as a guide to help users achieve the best possible results with the device. The explanations are kept as simple as possible to also provide less experienced users with the necessary foundation.

Resolution:
4 nm – guaranteed with tungsten filament at 30 kV, 6 mm working distance, specimen not tilted
25 nm – guaranteed with tungsten filament at 1 kV, 6 mm working distance, specimen not tilted
3.5 nm – guaranteed with optimal LaB6 filament at 30 kV, 6 mm working distance, specimen not tilted
