The safety workbench is a laboratory device in which the workspace features a largely turbulence-free (laminar) displacement airflow.

The air flowing through the workspace, as well as the exhaust air, is purified by a high-performance HEPA filter.


Scope of Features and Equipment

- Model Versions
The safety workbench is available in three different sizes: BDK-S 1200, 1500, and 1800.

- Airflow Monitoring
The airflow velocity in the recirculation area (downflow workspace) and exhaust area (inflow/exhaust air) is monitored using airflow sensors. Any disruptions are indicated by a warning light and audible alarm.

- View Screen Monitoring
The viewing sash, made from laminated safety glass, is equipped with counterweights and can be easily and continuously adjusted by hand. If the sash is not in the working position (opening greater than 190 mm), this is displayed on the control panel and indicated by an audible alarm.

- Control Panel
All necessary operating elements, including membrane keypad, warning buzzer, indicator lights, and a display for various operating states, are arranged on the control panel.

- Microprocessor Control
The microprocessor control is self-monitoring and continuously displays the airflow velocity.

- Unit Depth < 800 mm (840 mm)
Thanks to its compact unit depth, the safety workbench fits through all standard laboratory doors.

- Housing Design
The housing is made, for safety reasons, from 1.5 mm thick Zincor sheet steel with welded pressure zones.

- Contamination Zones
All contamination zones are surrounded by negative pressure.
