Explanation of the short operating time:
The entire Cross Wrap Bale Opener Line Type BO 4000 was installed in 2015 at a municipal waste incineration plant. The purpose of this installation was to allow the ongoing acceptance, pressing, wrapping, and storage of municipal waste during any operational disruptions or maintenance of the incineration plant, until the disruption was resolved. After resolution, all bales would then be opened and the waste processed in the regular incineration process.

This worst-case scenario never occurred. The system was installed, commissioned, and never used in regular operation. Only during commissioning and system start-up in 2015 were a total of 674 bales opened over three days. The line is in excellent, ready-to-use condition. Due to modification work at the incineration plant, the space occupied by the bale opener was required, making the complete line available for sale.

Brief Description of Bale Opening Process:
The compacted bales are placed onto the infeed conveyor from the side or rear using a forklift. To open them, the wire or twine bindings on the bales must run horizontally to the conveyor; otherwise, the bales need to be rotated 90° beforehand. The opening conveyor positions one bale at a time in front of the cutting unit. The grippers hold the wires or twine ties in place. The rotary knife then cuts the bale lengthwise. Afterwards, the gripper returns to its home position. The opened bale is conveyed via the discharge conveyor to the drop chute and then onto the downstream conveyor system.

Original purchase price of the complete system was €296,000. Full documentation (operating manual, CE declaration, electrical/hydraulic schematic) is included. The system has been disassembled into transport-friendly units, placed in storage, and is available for immediate inspection and loading.
