Roller glue application units for edge banding machines require regular maintenance, care, and cleaning. Collected chips, burnt glue residues, and other foreign materials negatively affect a uniformly thin adhesive application. This applies to the use of EVA hot melt adhesives and is especially important for the use of PUR glues. When the glue pot is installed in the machine, poor accessibility limits the effectiveness of cleaning. If the unit is removed—which is quick and easy for most makes—rapid cooling prevents thorough cleaning. In addition, a stable holder for the still-hot glue pot is usually missing, as well as a drive for the glue roller.
