Centreless grinding is a method for grinding cylindrical bodies and is used for the mass production of rollers, cylindrical and conical rollers, nozzle needles, pump plungers, hydraulic spools, crossheads, drills, etc.
During centreless plunge grinding, the workpiece is ground in a single pass thanks to the infeed movement of the grinding wheel. For this purpose, the grinding wheels and control wheels are dressed to a negative profile of the workpiece using a tool.
Through-feed grinding or longitudinal grinding: The workpieces are processed continuously with axial feed through the regulating gap.
