MONZESI ROSSI MONZA 1500 – currently undergoing overhaul and complete electrical/electronic retrofit

Equipped with Siemens electronics featuring touchscreen control, brushless motors on the Z-axis (workpiece diameter) and the regulating wheel (variable RPM), stepper motor for grinding wheel dressing increments, and automatic size compensation after dressing the grinding wheel.

Grinding wheel dimensions: 350 mm x 610 mm diameter.

This machine is available for inspection at our warehouse in Gussago, BS, Italy.

Plunge Grinding Process

In the plunge grinding process, workpieces with stepped or profiled outer surfaces, such as nozzle needles, valves, cross pins, gear and electric motor shafts, are machined. Available technologies include straight or angled plunge grinding, single or multiple production, plunge grinding in several simultaneous or sequential operations, or oscillating plunge grinding. By contrast, through-feed grinding is used for machining non-profiled workpieces, such as cylindrical and tapered rollers, rings, bars, and hydraulic slides. This grinding process is highly productive and is primarily used for series and mass production of precision components.
