It is stiffened throughout the entire machine bed with welded-in triangular plates, making it extremely stable. The use of a triangle shape with a large base for the load-bearing parts is the secret to ensuring long-lasting precision and stability. The machine’s layout allows the user to achieve optimal workflow while requiring minimal floor space. The base thus provides the processing unit with a balanced and secure foundation, delivering particularly good load distribution. The mobile unit carrier, designed as a gantry, is constructed from a solid single block (monoblock). It is positioned in the X-direction via prismatically ground guideways with ball bearing carriages. On the mobile unit carrier, the working unit is also mounted on prismatic, ground guides and ball bearing carriages. Axis movement: The Y- and Z-axis drive systems use ground recirculating ball screws of the highest precision class. The X-axis drive is via a backlash-free, preloaded precision rack-and-pinion drive. This ensures balanced load distribution during positioning. Such a characteristic is important to achieve balanced movement, even during complex operations. The movement of the different axes is performed by brushless three-phase servomotors (brushless AC motors). Thanks to very low ramp-up times, these motors offer excellent positioning speeds. Additionally, the measuring systems are fully integrated into these motors. The system is open and allows the connection of CD-ROM drive, sound card, barcode reader, modem, printer, scanning systems, etc. Furthermore, all network systems and any commercially available CAD programs can be installed.
