Description
The AB SCIEX API 4000™ LC/MS/MS system utilizes the TurboIonSpray probe and the atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (APCI) probe to generate ions from liquid samples.
The term LC/MS/MS, used for the triple quadrupole series, is a general designation for the combined analytical processes of liquid separation followed by mass spectrometric analysis.
The instrument is configured for conducting complex MS/MS analyses, but can also perform single MS scans (LC/MS) when less stringent analytical requirements are necessary.

The API 4000 LC/MS/MS system enables all MS/MS operation modes for the full characterization of biopharmaceutical compounds and the specificity necessary for new drug development.
For pharmaceutical and pharmacokinetic samples, MS/MS provides the required sensitivity and specificity to analyze hundreds of samples per day without elaborate sample preparation.
For peptides and proteins, molecular weights can be determined with an accuracy better than 0.01% at 200 kDa.
