The main purpose of this lathe type is the machining of pipes. Accordingly, this machine type is widely used in the oil industry. The pipe-threading lathes offer superior capabilities for machining threaded connections on cylindrical and conical internal and external surfaces of pipes with large diameters. Clamping of the pipes with two chucks and the included pipe supports allow the machining of very long pipes.
